A killer route with views to match,  continuous mountain roads, of the type cycling front cover photos are made. Just keep pedalling, find a pace and a rhythm with the group. It will hurt but your eyes will thank you.

CAFE STOPS - villaneuva de la conception, a lonely mountain town and antequera, a large twon of the region.

El Chorro - Teba - Campillos - A7286 - El Chorro

Our pride and joy route! There's an awful lot of climbing for your 70KM's but insane beauty. Caves, woodland, tourquoise lakes and Spanish towns. El Chorro is so famous for sightseeing, we go beyond the well used roads of the tourist buses into some pre-historic landscapes. Prepare to suffer for it's beauty, though!

CAFE STOPS - EL Kiosk at the lakes of El Chorro and Teba, a bustling Spanish town where you won't hear many English voices.

Malaga Centro - Fuente de la Reina - Malaga Centro

Get the coastal train into Malaga Central to begin the ride. A one-road ride to the “Queen’s Fountain” on a buttery smooth, perfect and winding climb. Afterwards, enjoy Malaga city and get the train back at your leisure (we’ll collect your from the station).

CAFE STOPS - La Fuente de la Reina cafeteria for snacks and a face wash in the cool, natural fountain and El Balneario, a beautiful relic of it’s glory days in the 20’s, perfect for a cool white wine feeling the spray of waves on Malaga's beach.

Mijas - Coin - Tolox - Tolox - Guaro - Guaro - Mijas

Consider this one hell of a training ride! We said we’ll give you hills and this ride you’ll certainly get it! On a majority of newly paved roads, you’ll experience sudden steep sections but mostly steady and smooth, for hours!

CAFE STOPS - Tolox, where we can take a long rest, or those who want punishment can take an additional climb right to the top and Guaro, our favourite, leafy green cool terraced restaurant.

El Chorro - ALORA - Carretraca - Ardeles - El Chorro

(additonal hill option: 10km 360m)

Steady and winding away from traffic, into the depth of the mountains. See our route wind around corners and stretch out in front of you. Beware, the roads are not well used and it is possible to encounter gravel on occasion. Worth it for the lack of other vehicles.

CAFE STOPS - Alora, a lively, tourist town and Carretraca the first sign of civilisation after the mountains.

Villafranco  Only

DISTANCE: 42KM
CLIMBING: 852 M

A glorious road into and out of Mijas, parallel to Mediterranean sea, that glows and sparkles below you. A newly surfaced, undulating mountainside traverse, with perfect curves and corners. We then take you into the farming area of Andalucian life, away from the tourists. No surprise hills, remaining at the top of the mountain plains, but continually fairly up or fairly down (this area simply doesn’t do flat!)

CAFE STOPS - Villafranco, where you can eat with the locals, nothing fancy, just a true Spanish day-to-day eaterie. Bright cafes from the outdoor stops in Alhaurin el Grande.

Mijas - Fuengirola - Villafranco - Mijas

See the tourist part of Costa del Sol as you drop into Fuengirola and then a long, steady climb back up the newly surfaced, smooth mountain road into the true working areas. After the first, fast descent there is one main climb back to the top, after which the ride remains fairly flat with undulating bumps.

CAFE STOPS - The cafeteria just outside of Villafranco, where you can eat with the locals, nothing fancy, just a true Spanish day-to-day eaterie.
